There is no place like SoHum and the special lifestyle we have here. With the looming legalization of weed, there will undoubtedly be significant changes. One of the purposes of this film is to capture a slice of life at this moment in time, not just to make us understandable to the world outside of the Redwood Bubble, but to show future generations what it was like “back in the day.”
Imagine how cool it would be if we had a cinema-verite´documentary of day-to-day life in the hills of SoHum 80 years ago when this area was a big moonshining and smuggling area. It would be as fascinating and precious to us as One Good Year will be to people 80 years from now. To make it happen, I need people who share that vision who are willing to come out of the woodwork and into the limelight.
I’m looking for people who have stories to tell. As of late May, there is still room for someone else who wants to show the world what a season of the homesteading and weed growing lifestyle is like. I have three people whom I’m filming already, but another one or two would fill the “cast” out nicely.
